Back to School Project

The Back to School Project provides children in CPS care with the tools they need to return to school with confidence and resources to succeed. School clothes, shoes, socks, underwear, backpacks, and grade‑appropriate school supplies are distributed to school‑age children with open CPS cases.

These items allow our clients to walk into the classroom prepared — just like their peers. Education is one of the most powerful factors in breaking the generational cycle of abuse and neglect that many of our children experience.

In 2025, 331 children received services through the Back to School Project.

What Each Child Receives

Every child supported through the project receives:

• 4 new outfits (shirts and pants)

• 1 pair of shoes

• Socks and underwear

• School supplies packaged by school level

• A new backpack

These essentials help ensure that each child begins the school year with dignity, stability, and a sense of belonging.
